We ordered the "Fish and chips". Absolutely terrible food and unpleasant service from the waiter. The fish was not fresh and probably prepared a day or two in advance. It was cold and not cooked evenly, very bad taste. The French fries were soft and cold. Not worth a single star except for the location.

Rooms are modern and spacious. Food is superb. Location is unbeatable.
Yes, some visitors will be dismayed by the low and slanting ceilings in some rooms but this is an ancient building that has been lovingly maintained and refurbished with modern accoutrements. Caring and courteous staff will assist you and help you have a memorable visit.

Reine Mathilde was our favorite hotel in all of Europe. Barbara and her staff made us feel like we were the most important guests staying there. Our room was very comfortable and private. We felt we were living in our own guesthouse in this very elegant village. The location is superb. We still miss the hotel after being home two weeks. We cannot recommend Reine Mathilde too highly. A real gem.

Good central location. Excellent breakfast. Rooms OK, fairly small and no aircon in the one I had. Street parking nearby.

We stayed in the Annex next to the town hall. The rooms were superb. Great location in Bayeux near the cathedral shops and museums.
