Was there for lunch. Great food great service. THEN we meet the "first Saturday of month " Kangaroo Club!
What an experience will remember it forever. A bunch of Frenchmen friends drinking wine and singing as loud as they could. We were invited to join them as I looked like one of their ill friends. Mon Dieu , this is what travel is all about!

My wife and I liked it - we just had a drink at the bar; the service was good, brought out snack with our drink, the atmosphere was warm and inviting and they had a piano player. The Hemingway connection is a plus and understand why he like the place - we'll definitely come back next time we're in Paris.

Nice attentive service and a fabulous vibrant atmosphere. Historic Paris city centre location where Ernest hemmingway wrote his novels in the 1920s. The strawberry dessert in summer is Divine. Be a part of rich parisian history and do visit.

I really like the history of this place and it's story. We were greeted and waited on for a bit by the manager at first and he was so kind and passionate about the restaurant. The food was good - it wasn't the best I had in Paris but I still enjoyed it.

I'm glad we didn't show up in shorts, although I'm sure that would have been fine, it's just a nicer place. The pianist started playing too while we were there and it was lovely. Really great atmosphere and bar area - we sat in the dining area inside. They also have a lovely patio. Glad we chose this place as our last meal in Paris.

Incredibly rude staff who didn't particularly care about the history of the place. They'll take you money, but do so while treating you with utter contempt.

Have had the opportunity to dine at the bistro and at the restaurant. Food was excellent, live piano was lively without being overbearing, the place was wonderfully decorated with a great almost cosy atmosphere.
Would recommend the Hemingway for those dining at the restaurant.

You can't go to Paris without passing by the Closerie for some oysters or a tartare. It's always excellent, the pianist, the menu, the food, the service, the setting, it's what you'd expect from a good restaurant in Paris.

Friendly staff, warm atmosphere, thick with history, iconic location for FIA students. Must-see. Their thé aux fruits rouges is fantastic.

Just celebrated my birthday there with my wife and our daughter (who works down the street and made the recommendation). Every dish we consumed (and we sent nothing but crumbs back) was magnificent. The 2011 Graves recommended by our server was perfect. We couldn't have asked for more attentive, but never overbearing, service. After polishing off dessert, we took refuge in the bar to continue the party and our enjoyment of the pianist, who was spectacular. A quick chat with him and a deposit in his cookie plate yielded an outpouring of our requests and an invitation to sing along (I shamelessly accepted). As the evening got longer, more regulars kept pouring in and the vibes got even warmer. My wife and I can't wait to go back -- I might make celebrating birthdays here a habit.

Fancy and extremely tasty. I had beef tartare and my wife had some lovely chicken. It's a high end environment and I wished we had dressed nicer.

A typical parisian style cafe. Good date place

It was Hemingway’s “home cafe,” where he worked on The Sun Also Rises and where F Scott Fitzgerald read him an early draft of The Great Gatsby.
