I LOVE this place! It's history, charm, knowledge, & what seems to be the freshest supply of oil pastels or any high quality pastel it is all so amazing. I purchased a hand made lead holder made of exotic wood, one of a kind! And the textures and different papers available, I have just not seen this quality ever in any art store I've been to. I'm from Los Angeles area. Looking at the demo papers and demo books with various artists markings is now a favorite past time of mine in Paris. This is creeping in as my favorite art store in the world.

I visited this store based on it's history and reputation. I must say that I am not an artist, so I can't say much about it's pricing, though everything seemed very expensive in comparison to what I see back at home in Canada. However, the level of charm this place has is over the roof. As a photographer I couldn't stop capturing the colours, patterns, lines and repetitions. The place is a visual feast, and I loved exploring it.

Fantastic shop with a great selection. Staff is friendly, helpfull and speaks english.

I can imagine most artists would love it to. Whether or not it is the place to show for art supplies, I cannot fairly say. But as far as visiting a place with charm and history - it's a 5/5.

The shop was beautiful and the salesgirl really friendly but this older man with grey-ish hair just refused to help me. When queuing up, he asked the man behind me to come to the counter! So strange. I wonder if it was because I wasn't as white as that other customer! After buying my set of colours, I discovered a few blocks away, the same article was sold 20 euros cheaper :(
