Great place to visit in Montpellier as this is one of the oldest botanical gardens in Europe with some really wild plants.

Delightfully maintained gardens founded in 1593AD to aid teaching in the adjacent medical school, the oldest in the world founded in 1137AD

Free access to the oldest botanical garden of France. Very nice but not as nice as the botanical garden in Amsterdam.

One of first (if not the first) European botanical garden. linked to the university of Montpellier right from the beginning, medicine faculty, lots of exotic and Mediterranean species. Lovely park of course with lovely architecture such as the orangery and glasshouse/greenhouse (less serres) dating from the 15s century, currently being restored. Hopefully soon we will have all sections reopened because of the refections.
