Great food along the Cours Maribeau in Aix-en-Provence. Open late.Good service too!

The food here is embarrassment to the country of France. High prices for pre-cooked slop served without care. We sent back all the food and were told that we still had to pay. This may be fine for sitting out for a bottle of wine but do not eat here.

Very good food. Pleasant staff.

A bit more expensive then other places but has nice view on main street and friendly weiters. Here was spending his time and painter Cesanne, sitting for hours in this place.

Over all, it was not the worst restaurant experience I have ever had, but it was far from the best

The staff was very nice, the service was great.

Food is OK, but a bit overpriced. Service is a bit messy.

This restaurant sits on Cours Mirabeau, which is a main tourist 'square' (just a really long rectangular one.)

I visited this restaurant years ago with my late husband, and had the most wonderful evening with lovely food and, great service.Last week,I was on holiday again in Aix,and having booked a table well in advance, was looking forward to a lovely evening.
I was so disappointed -we could not eat in the main restaurant as a large party were expected,so were pushed into a very shabby side room, which smelt of tobacco.Eventually found a table outside where we were ignored for about 45 mins. Finally asked what we would like to eat,we were informed that lobster was off the menu.At which point we left.
Talking to the manager of the hotel where we were staying,he said he would never recommend Les Deux Garcons to any of his visitors.
How the mighty have fallen!

We were starved. It was late. They took care of us well. Kind waiter / waitress.
Most important; is one of the few eateries that still provide nice linen tablecloths. That is something all good restaurants; especially French should provide to set the stage for your dinner (regardless of the meal). Our food was excellent; the Rose cote de Provence wine was great. The historical aspects with Cezzane and the street view is icing on the cake. Best meal I have had since being in France (includes Paris). Recommend it highly.

First evening was perfect nice food, good service. On second evening we left during making order. Rude and hurried waiter makes us feel terrible and ruined evening. I would taste it as 1 star, but taking in account first experience it is just middle rating. All depends on which waiter will serve you. Good food

The food... a bit on the meh side. The foie gras was dry and a bit on the mealy side, while the fruit jam it was served with had a strong taste that reminded me of cigarette tobacco. The steak was tough and rubbery with the slightly think bits on either end being cooked to my liking but the (largest) middle bit was over done. The dessert (called a strawberry pie, but more of a torte) was the only part of the meal that was really good.

My husband andI ate here.Service was quite good and there was a trio playing some nice music. It is a lovely restaurant. However the food was terrible. My cordonbleu was much too large with heavy breading and dry to taste. My husband had the Osso Bucco. I must add that my mom made a very good Osso Bocco so all are compared to her's. A very dry looking Osso Bucco came on a bed of mushy rissoto.Again very dry no taste.Gordon Ramsay would have fired off the expletives.Go here for the ambiance but not the food.
