Though we didn't really have need of the toilet blocks, due to having our own facilities, I did use the showers for their increased space. I found them very clean and well cared for, with good pressure and plenty of hot water.

Easy cycle ride into the village.

Nice quiet campsite.

We stayed at this campsite nearly 20 years ago. We came back and the same owners were still there. It is run by a British couple.

This is the most delightful campsite. We have stayed here twice and have booked again for this year. The first time we arrived to spend a couple of nights in transit to the west coast of France - and stayed for 15 nights. The river which borders the campsite is so child friendly. You can watch them playing in safe shallow water and hire canoes very near to the campsite at a very reasonable price.
Every night there is a choice of a freshly cooked meal ( booking necessary ).
A bakers van calls to the site very morning so you don't even have to cycle/ walk / drive the short distance into the town for fresh bread ! There is usually a queue where you can catch up with other campers and share news of the previous day's adventures.
Lots to do, fantastic washing and shower facilities, spotlessly clean ... need you ask for any more?
we will be back as will our friends and also Ma and Pa West!
Love Filature!!!

All in all, a great place to relax and enjoy French rural life.

I have stayed at this campsite twice before and am returning in a few days. Having read a few negative reviews I feel inclined to comment. I am no Ray Mears so the clean toilets and showers suit this city boy to the ground. The pitches are generous with maintained grounds close to a lazy river in dappled shade. The optional meals offered by our hosts are hearty and tasty. The children loved the freedom of the site and and adults love the security. The site is very green in flora and in its ethos, but for those who need to be in touch with the outside world while on "holiday" there is wifi available. At the end of my stay I question why I live in a city, and am glad there are places such as Filature that allow me to recharge.

We stayed at this campsite August 2013. We were very disappointed even though the campsite had lots of good reviews. When we arrived, we found the site looking "tired" we had the previous campers cooked food all around our pitch and there were lots of kids clothes and broken buckets and spades strewn around which had not been cleared away. The grass and hedges needed attending to, however after removing the rotting food, we settled in. As it was late we asked for food at the reception, the reception girl was very nice and polite, but the English owners very snooty!! We had omelette but it was badly cooked so I wouldn't recommend it - normally our kids favourite they hardly ate. Very expensive too.. The loos were not great, toilet doors didn't shut when I visited.. We didn't try the showers as they looked dirty. Playground equipment seriously out of date and the roundabout dangerous.. my 4 year old caught his finger in the wooden slats. Over all a poor site, the website makes it look incredible but we left early to go to our next destination. I don't normally leave reviews. but thought you all should know.

We rented one of the small number of static caravans on this quiet site. One of the newer models, it was spacious and comfortable, with a large grassy area around it for relaxing or sitting out to eat. The older, smaller (and cheaper) vans are somewhat tired, but well kept, and enjoy similarly spacious pitches.

The camping pitches are large, all with power and separated by hedging from each other. There is a wide shallow river running by which adds a background noise of running water.

There is WiFi and boule pitch by the reception. Bread, food and groceries are available at the reception, except when we were there at the end of the season.

The setting of the site is lovely. Set on the banks of the river, and a pleasant walk from the village, it's just right. There's a bar with outside seating, good play areas, and home cooked take away meals. It''s a characterful and quirky place
