Shady groups of 4-8 men harassing women, shouting at them about what seem to be hairdressing coupons. Groups also seem to be in conflict with each other, causing stare-offs. I don't know what the deal is but this area is terrifying even in daylight. Would not dare walk here alone.

Charming multi-cultural. Plenty of salesmen at the metro looking for customers to fill the plethora of African hair salons at street level. Sri Lankans warming chestnuts. African women selling sodas.

We took the subway all over Paris during our trip here. The good: extensive network, reasonable price, long hours. The Bad: Breakdowns common (we were impacted badly with the entire line 4 shut down for 5 hours in mid trip as they dumped us at a station and said you are on your own), very hot and smelly on many trains, at times transferring between lines can be tedious. We loved it but clearly room for improvement.
