One of the most beautiful Chateau in the Loire Valley. What makes Cheverny unique is it is totally furnished and each room have been renovated exactly as it was. The owners lives in the Chateau and it shows how much they are for it.

The castle and garden are very nice. However on weekend there are a lot of people. There is no possible to buy tickets online, so you will need to wait at cash desk for at least 1h.

Loved the Tintin exhibition, very clever and realistic settings. The chateau and its interiors are very well maintained. I enjoyed my visit to the chateau, but don't feel it's quite at the level of some other chateaus. However, it's definitely a must-visit for Tintin fans, and for people who enjoy magnificent interiors and furnitures.

Cheverny is a special chateau with two bonus treats going for it: slightly off the beaten path and quaint little town that goes with it. So nice to get away from the crowds for a bit. Love the hounds! Also enjoyed wine tasting after touring.

I bet you didn't know that Marlinspike Hall from Tin Tin was literally based on this beautiful Chateau in Loire Valley. The Chateau was v well kept and maintained with just the right amount of French whimsy. There is also a really good tintin exhibition on the property, where you can explore life sized scenes from the comic. U can also peek into tintin's bedroom. I also thoroughly enjoyed the v well manicured kitchen garden, as well as the lego exhibition artfully interspersed into living spaces set up centuries ago. Do visit this Chateau. And it's really close to the famous Chateau Chambord, so you can visit both Chateaus in a day!

A much more peaceful and expansive energy at Chateau De Cheverny. This castle is restored and beautifully preserved. Each room is furnished giving an idea of what it would be like to live in and what the rooms are used for. The grounds a wonderful to walk in and there are many places to sit and take in the wonderful nature vistas. Be sure to visit the fantastic abundant kitchen garden, see the hunting dogs, and the black swans!

I'm writing this as I line up to go up the stairs of this castle. We lined up to get tickets. Lined up to enter the building. We noticed the line up to enter the forest area which requires an additional cost of 5 Euros. We are now half way up the stairs. The line is not moving as quickly. Just wondering if there is a line up to go down? If you love to line up, this place is amazing. If not, make sure you have something to read. Or just skip it.

We came specifically to see the feeding of the dogs and I enjoyed the lego presentation inside as well. The inside was more interesting than I was imagining as it doesn't look like much from the outside. I was disappointed that the maze was closed in the off season but I'm sure if you come in summer this won't be the case. Maybe next time I'll check out the tintin museum

The best castle for kids that I visited in France so far. Apart from historical items and displays, they also put lego paintings, statues, and others to depict stories so kids can guess. Most importantly, kids were thrilled to watch the feeding time of over 100 hound dogs here. Super duper nice place to visit with kids ans foe dog lovers especially

Super fun. House is more "modern" and a family lives there. Great place for kids because 3xs a week they feed the 100+ hunting hounds and that is a sight to behold! Nice break for kids who are being dragged from Chateau to Chateau.
