The grounds are what stunned us. The chateau itself is lovely, but the surrounding gardens and hills are amazing. There are so many little trails and walkways to explore and you're often rewarded by beautiful views of the Loire. You can even see Chateau d'Amboise in the distance. One evening we sat up on the hill behind the B&B, enjoying a light picnic dinner, and watched hot air balloons rise across the sky. After an unusually stressful day, that was a highlight moment of our trip.

The chateau was so quaint and lovely. Great service and friendly welcoming committee (a nice big dog). Breakfast was yummy and the grounds were beautiful.

We stayed 3 nights in this amazing chateau and really wished we could have stayed longer! Our room was the Pavillon Marie-Louise room (separate from the main house) and we loved it. Since it's set apart from the other buildings, we could talk and laugh late at night and not worry about disturbing others. The room was comfortable and clean, and we loved being able to have a little picnic on the little table outside. (Some of the tile in the shower was about to fall off the wall, so I was very careful not to touch it or brush against it with my bath towel. Being a DIY home remodeler, I had to resist the urge to mix up some mortar and do a quick tile repair.)

Squeezing your vehicle through the narrow gateway is well worth it to stay in this unique place. Nice bed. Nice breakfast. Friendly owner. Not within walking to food but there is a summer kitchen at guest's disposal and a common area. I would suggest grabbing some wine and some take out to eat and relax on site. Though a drive to Lion d'Or in Amboise to eat is worth it.

tout s'est bien passé

Chateau de Nazelles was the our favorite place we've stayed in France. We wish France wasn't so far away so we could visit Chateau de Nazelles more often!

nous reviendrons

Other great features: the wifi was strong and fast, the pool is gorgeous (though too cold when we were visiting), there is a summer kitchen for guests who want to cook, and the main house has a billiards rooms.

Great hosts and excellent little chateau atmosphere that could also fit in Provence, not only in Val de Loire. Rooms benefit from natural A/C from the rock they're carved in, and a mini kitchen with access for everyone is available for guests. Located between Tours and Blois, one has good access to a large array of castles to visit. The pool adds a welcoming cooling-off option for hot afternoons. Tip: ask the owner for local good restaurant information, and if you happen to visit around July14th don't miss the fireworks in Amboise, only a couple miles away.

Breakfast was so elegant and delicious, served in the beautiful dining room. Véronique served fruit from her garden and a variety of local cheeses, yogurts, and bread. You could also have a soft or hard boiled egg. The local apple cider was so delicious, as was the café au lait.
