I was shocked by the poor customer service. Recommend going by car.

The castle is beautifull but in need of restauration, i think that is ongoing. Main rooms are beautifull. Do also visit the Dome, the lantern on top op the chateau. The 'behind the scenes' route is nice and the view amazing, Le Notre's creation in all its glory. Take a moment to check out the roof structure, a thing of beauty.

I recommend to take train from Gare De L’est in Paris to Vernuil L’etaing (1 stop - 50 minutes). Then take the bus provided by the Château (10 EUR return). Understandably, the driver can’t speak much English but very friendly and engaging. The bus was on time to meet the train and back, very efficient. The Château has extensive park, very tranquil and not as busy as Versailles. Highly recommended!

POOR SHUTTLE SERVICE / NICE VIIST

No one took responsibility. When I informed the estate by message, they again denied responsibility, then finally made an apology. There was no offer for reimbursement, no offer to revisit the estate gratuitously, etc.

A bit overpriced. The gardens are great but the layout of castle's visit is weird and some components are just added to please tourists as they are not related to the castle's history. Nice stroll

Beautiful chateau!! The interior is decorated and furnished which makes it interesting for the families and the gardens are beautiful, I always get the golf cart to go around the gardens and I rented the costumes for my kids (Not a huge variety but a very nice touch to the visit of the Chateau interior).
The food at the Écurie was average and expensive, next time around I will just get a sandwich at the shop by the gardens.
I highly recommend visiting this chateau.

Very easy access able from Paris. Beautiful. Actually the first pre-Versaille casle. Same architect and gardener.

This is a great Château
The audio guide is the best there is!
Great ideas!
All the other châteaux must learn!

While the day at the estate was lovely, poor management at the end of the day was a real turn off.

This is a real gem. The house itself is wonderful but the gardens are amazing. Make sure to allow plenty of time to explore the gardens and grounds as there are lots of hidden treasures. This is a great place to visit as it is not as crowded as some of the more famous and well known chateaus. They do serve a wonderful lunch on the premises which is moderately priced and very delicious. This was one of my favorite places while in France and I would highly recommend a visit.

very beautiful chateau and gardens. Not as crowded as Versailles or Fontainbleu

The last shuttle bus of the day never showed up. The shuttle takes you to the train to Paris. When we informed the staff, they were oblivious. On a Sunday in August, there was apparently no one on the grounds who could make decisions: to reimburse us, to provide us a bottle of water, etc.

Having visited Vaux several times over the years it is the most wonderful place in the world. Tranquil, romantic and beautiful. Visit on a day that gardens and chateau are candlelit, have a meal and wander the garden in the dusk of evening. I cannot remember such a beautiful place.
