Historic house of the last year's of Leonardo Da Vinci. They have made models of many of Leonardo's most famous speculative inventions from his notebooks. The models exist in both small forms exhibited in the house and in large examples throughout the adjacent park. Lots of good information here which is, unfortunately presented in very difficult to read formats. I'm sure this was done so that all the plaques don't take away from seeing the original architecture but plan on taking more time than usual to read this worthwhile information. Of course most of the information is in French. A fun place for older children who will find these earliest concepts of flight and mechanical engineering interestingly presented.

The castle is really nice with beautiful gardens. Added to that da Vinci expositions and models are really nice

This is a life size model of Leonardo daVinci's lock mechanism and gates for a canal. This design is still used today. Clos Lucé is his home. A fascinating peek into the life of this genius. Great for adults and kids alike. Wheelchair accessible.

I first thought €15 per ticket was a little steep, but it was actually completely worth it. Very well laid out glimpse into the life and mind of one of history's great geniuses. Do not miss the garden with full-scale models of Leonardo's inventions and ghostly prints of his paintings hanging among the tree branches. Could spend the whole day here.

Beautiful small chateau with a lot of interesting things to see including a fantastic garden with full scale and working 'machines' from the drawings of Leonardo da Vinci. There is a gourmet restaurant in the grounds as well as an informal garden cafe and another next to the house and shop. The shop by the way is outstanding far better than any of the other chateau's we visited with a much greater selection of exclusive gifts. Don't miss Chateau du Clos Luce!

Calling this a chateau is a bit of a misnomer. It is not huge or Grand. It is interesting, though. Allow half a day for the house and park.

It was wonderful visiting this special castle amongst the numerous castles in Loire Valley, with the interesting exhibits and the huge outdoor areas.

This place is really fascinating. It is easily reached by camping car with either the choice of free camping car parking to the left of the main road out of Amboise or at the carpark at Clos Luce. You have to pay at this car park and there is only space for 6 vans.
We took our friendly dog round the garden with ease and he investigated all the exhibits closely! It took us 2hrs just to go the garden. Perhaps we are slow but there's so much to take in. I'm just waiting outside the chateau now with him while mum investigates the interior.

Great few hours out. Always been fascinated about Leonardo da vinci so this was a must see. Didn't spend long in the gardens as it started pouring with rain but the house was a wonderful insight into the last three years of his life

I have been there twice, and am still looking forward to paying my third, fourth and even fifth visit to this magnificent attraction when I visit France again.

Human sized château where Leonardo da Vinci spend latter part of his life. The chateau has been beautifully restored and houses very interesting exhibitions about Leonardo's contributions . Similarly the gardens are also very interesting , scattered along the walkways are installations based on Leonardo's inventions. Great place to visit

Beautiful grounds, well laid out as it looks at DaVinci as artist, inventor and nature lover. There were many presentations on the grounds that one can choose to hear in English as well as several other languages. I saw many young children enjoying the ground and playing on creative equipment based on DaVinci's inventions.

Inspirational! The Chateau is "family sized". The interior is beautifully presented and thought provoking, and the exhibits fascinating. The grounds are beautiful with the artwork and inventions throughout, and information presented in many languages. Would be fantastic for kids too.

There were a large variety of exhibits and installations in the Garden, including some interactive life-sized models of Leonardo da Vinci's designs. The children's playground was especially fun for kids to enjoy their time surrounded by woods and soft breezes, after exploring about the great Renaissance Man's stories.
