I asked for an iron and ironing board to be sent to the room (not too sure where it would have fit, see below). I was told that I could go to reception and they would show me where I was able to use them. I was took down into the graffiti filled basement that wasn't tall enough to stand up in. Then into a room full of washing hung on a line. I wouldn't expect this at hostel, let alone a centrally located hotel.

Republique hotel would be recommended to anyone - please do give them your custom.

Great location. A bit noisy at times. The staff are helpful and friendly. Rooms are clean and comfortable.

It's a perfectly clean room, but the room is hilariously small. I am 5'1 & 110 lbs and I have to side step in the the bathroom and have to take turns walking around with my husband. But whatever, it's $65 for one night! Oh and when you go out, you have to return your room key to the desk and pick it up when you get back.

Rooms are clean small and basic. Very central. Lots of building work happening and walls are thin.

Hotel is clean and so are the rooms, in a great location too being a 2 minute walk from the underground! Staff are friendly and helpful, being able to leave key at the front desk when going out is a great bonus too!

Convenient, safe location only 3-5 minutes walking to to Republic metro station with several lines branching out all over Paris. Patisserie, coffee shops, restaurants all within quick walking distance. Beds were clean and comfortable. Bathroom clean with a full shower and good water pressure. Location is on a quiet side street very near to the square. We were on the fifth floor and there was no street noise. I wouldn’t expect much on the lower floors either. Balcony with our room so you can stand outside. Front desk staff spoke good English, were friendly, efficient, and helpful. The elevator is comically small and spiral stairs with minimally lighting so they’re not ideal either. Elevator fits two average adults but it’s tight. Wifi service was quick and accessible from the room. I will definitely check to see if this hotel is available next time I’m in Paris and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to friends.

Location is fairly close to a metro stop. Room was very small, but equipped well enough. It was clean and clearly retrofitted from an older living quarters. Decent two star hotel.

I expect small rooms in Paris, but this was that small you couldn't pull the chair from under the desk as the bed stopped it and you had to open the bathroom door to be able to open the shower door.

Rooms were clean and tidy. Bathroom was small but to be expected in Paris. Excellent customer service. Breakfast was worth the money.

The quality/price ratio is okay. The neighbourhood is not the best to go around at night. The rooms are really small, the bathroom even smaller, but both are clean. The elevator is really tiny, so it is actually better to have a room at a lower level. One woman at the reception was really kind, the other members of staff a bit less. It was impossible to get a second key for the room.

Amazing hotel. Such a cheap price considering the service the staff provide, the cleanliness and size/layout of the room. The hotel is officially a 2 star but is in practice far more. They operate a great policy of leaving your room key with the receptionist whilst you go out, giving you one less thing to carry and worry about losing. The hotel is in a really great location - there are in excess of 15 restaurants within a 10 min walk, plenty of bakeries and a collection of bars. Republique metro is also 5 mins away, which connects you to most parts of Paris, and the Louvre/Place de la Concorde and Tour Eiffel are all within an hours walk.

The lift can only fit one person in at a time and breaks down if you try to fit two people in.
