+JMJ Amazingly impressive and a thought-provoking visit, Sept 1998. During a week long stay at Lourdes, serving as a volunteer with a group called the Legion of Mary, I had time to visit many places affected by the life of St Bernadette and her family. Even to this day, when life becomes difficult for me, I reflect upon St Bernadette and her family making the most of living in such miserable conditions. Well, the example of St Joseph and Blessed Mother Mary in the stable with the Infant Jesus is something to reflect upon too!

Luogo di per sè spoglio ed angusto. Utile dal punto di vista storico per ripercorrere la vita di Santa Bernarde Soubirous e capire le condizioni socio-economiche della sua famiglia.

A família Soubirous, em extrema pobreza, estava abrigada nesta antiga cela de prisão quando Nossa Senhora apareceu à Bernadette.

Da visitare per comprendere la storia e la forte povertà in cui viveva la famiglia di Bernadette ai tempi. Si conservano alcuni oggetti personali di Bernadette. La porta del cachot è quella originale. Era qui che viveva Bernadette ai tempi delle apparizioni.
