Cadre sympas ,tout comme le personnel . Bonne viande mais serais meilleur avec des frites maison . Le vin était bon . rapport qualité prix correct

Souvent de passage à Ambrières les Vallées nous nous arrêtons toujours au Relais de la Varenne la patronne Magaly est au soins de c'est client et le repas est toujours un délice. (surtout la sauce bearnaise)

We arrived at this little restaurant just as they were due to open. The staff us to go away until five past the hour. So we sat down at a table to wait. Five minutes later we chose a table by the water and were told it was "reserved' so returned to our original table. Then we were told we could not sit there because it wasn't set and had to move to a nearby table. We waited and were ignored. Then a large english party arrived and were forced to all sit around one small table (there were about nine of them but when they sat at an adjoining table they were told it was "reserved". and they were then given menus and their order was taken before ours. We waited. More customers arrived and then the sun umbrella sheltering us was snatched away. We protested and the waitress ignored us. We made to leave and complained and she said "I've been working for 95 hours this week. You can wait." We didn't. Rude, unfriendly and hostile. We would not recommend this place to anyone.

This was the only place open so we entered. The location is very good, with a view over the river and the town. The landlord and the landlady were friendly and professional. The menu was pub-food with pizza too. We found it mediocre, but again the atmosphere was friendly.
