Belle terrasse agréable et c'est tant mieux car on y reste longtemps. En près de 2 heures nous avons réussi à manger un plat d'ailleurs léger. Nous avons renoncé au dessert. Puis au café commandé avec l'addition. Nous avons réussi à payer la note et nous sommes allés boire le café plus loin. Table sale, vaisselle douteuse, assiette ébréchée, nous sommes navrés de voir cet ancien bon restaurant péricliter.

Beautiful situated in the old village. Hotel is nice but not very modern. The restaurant was not good.

Hotel bien par contre la cuisine médiocre: plats ne correspondent pas à la description puis la qualité des produits mauvaise. Les surgelés à chaque reprise. Dommage car cadre et environnement très agréables.

J adore pour l ambiance de la salle qui j espère restera un peu rétro. Super cuisine, délicieux, savoureux. Je recommande aussi bien pour repas en famille qu' en tête à tête. Les tarifs sont corrects vers le haut néanmoins mais c est succulent. Amabilité présente

We were expecting the service not to be great based on other reviews, but one staff member surpassed expectations. She was unfriendly and unhelpful. For instance, we weren't told how to get into and out of the hotel after 10pm, and it felt like we were locked in.
The room we were given looked dated and was very hot, partly add it was above the kitchen, which also meant it was noisy until 10pm. We had to sleep with the window open and the fan on and still it was very hot.
We opted for the half board option when we booked, expecting dinner to be from the menu du jour. We were told that there was no choice of any course and no option to upgrade to the menu. Luckily we are not fussy eaters and the food was actually nice. Veggies or anyone with dietary requirements would have been stuck.
Another fine example of customer service during dinner when we were offered drinks without seeing a drinks menu or carte du vin. Having ordered drinks they did not arrive until after the first course was already on the table. The red wine was not offered to taste despite being a cork, and was not poured. Water also was not forthcoming unlike in all other restaurants I have been to in France.
To be fair the price of the hotel is very reasonable and Coucy le chateau is a lovely location, but the management of their establishment leaves slit to be desired.
