Superb location overlooking beauty spot on the River Charente. Good quality, modern French cuisine, all prepared in-house. Can be a bit pricey and menu doesn’t change very often. Open all year. Closed Tuesdays.

I haven't eaten here since it changed hands a few years ago, as the cheapest set menu is 25 euros so it's quite expensive for some groups. It is a lovely setting though and they do sell coffees and ice creams which is good if you're sitting by the river for the afternoon.

Isolated restaurant facing a beautiful spot on the Charente river. They do classic French cuisine, and there's a good choice of both meat and sea plates. Oysters are really good quality, but were served with still cold butter: this made it difficult to spread it on bread slices, and was a little bit of a downer for a restaurant with such prices. Service was good, even if the young waiter is still a little bit unexperienced. Still a very good restaurant, but there is room for improvement.
