Worth a wander. Good contextualisation and information boards and many helpful staff inside. Quite busy - a blend of tourists and worshippers.

Bonita catedral que llama la atención principalmente porque su nave no es recta, tiene una pequeña curva que, según dicen, simboliza la inclinación de la cabeza de Cristo en la cruz. Quimper es una ciudad muy bonita, típicamente bretona.

Quimper Cathedral is a jewel of Breton gothic art , properly the Cathedral of Saint Corentin of Quimper, it is a Roman Catholic cathedral and national monument of Brittany. It is located in the town of Quimper and is the seat of the Diocese of Quimper–Leon.
In 1239, Bishop Reynaud started the building of the actual cathedral on the remnants of an ancient roman cathedral.
From 1850, an architect from Quimper, Joseph Bigot, started to restore the building, mainly by adding new furnitures, decorating chapels and replacing the windows destroyed under the French Revolution by newstained-glass windows.

Well restored architecture with magnificent neo-gothic spires and unusual not quite aligned position of the nave. Interesting stained glass, and plenty of local references.

Une jolie cathédrale dont on ressent l'émotion lorsqu'on y entre.
J'ai eu envie de prendre le train touristique un jour et il y a quelques explications à propos de l'architecture de la cathédrale qui sont très intéressant pour ceux qui ont envie de donner de la vie aux images qu'ils ont en tête.

There was a funeral going on when we arrived here so didn't get to really look inside. Looked amazing from outside but worth remembering this is a working cathedral and the patrons should be respected.
