This is where my namesake is buried, James Robert Rainford I was 22 years old when he was brought to this advance dressing station in 1917, wounded in the throat at the Battle of Festubert.
He died before he could be evacuated.
This cemetary is in a former orchard and is beautifully kept.
The locals do not forget our casualties: a local man kindly photographed JRR's grave for me when he heard I was looking for help.
