When we came back to the room we noticed that the A/C was not cooling the room any lower that 88 Fahrenheit whe the outside temperature was about 92
I called the reception but they said they could nothing until the next morning.

The next morning I asked to speak to the manager. I explained the rude behavior from the reception people from the night before, but instead of trying to solve the problem, I was told that I basically hadnothing to say without a reservation. Telling them that I have been a guest since 1990 did not matter at all. When asking whether there were any other rooms with better A/C I was told that the temperature in the room that we had was the same in the rest of the hotel. This is when I decided to stop arguing with them and left with a very bitter and sad feeling. The place that I loved for so many years could care less. I drove to Italy and ended up in San Remo in a beautifull 5 star hotel named Royal Palace.



Then in 2009 I showed up with my dad and mom for a 5 night stay. I had not been to the hotel since 2005. The hotel was under new management. The reservation I made for two rooms could not be found. Instead of being accomodating I was treated in a very unpleasant and rude manner by several people from the reception. We had dinner that night and noticed that the prices of the restaurant had increased by at least 30%-40%. For me not a problem if it would be the same perfect experience that I had in the past. But the food was a disappointment, quality wise and portion wise.
The service had changed on top of everything else, instead of the friendliness in the past the waiters walked around with attitude and it became an very awkward and unpleasant dinner experience. Sadly enough my friend, the somelier Ali, was off that night.

I was just wondering what other people were writing about this hotel. After seeing so many wonderfull experiences I would like you to know my story. I came to this hotel for the first time around 1990 when it was run by the Golden Tulip hotel chain.
In the next 20 years I visited about 15 times and referred the hotel to many friends. It had an awesome manager Mr. Peter van Santen who ran the place like it was his own. Everything was perfect, the people were friendly, the food was excellent.
I stayed on the average a week to ten days at a time, usually once per year. The restaurant with its stunning view was full every night because the food was out of this world.

Pretentious, over priced, rude only begins to describe this resort. Hotel guest must pay extra for basic services (day beds, etc) Avoid.

What a drag Miramar Beach for being so incredibly unprofessional. I never went back but am very surprised to see so many good reviews. One thing I almost forgot to say, the hotel used to be beautifull and well maintained. To me it looked run down, as if in the years 2005 - 2009 not a penny was reinvested in the hotel.
