Easily the finest art gallery in Honfleur!

I was able to purchase several oils and watercolors for half what i would have paid in Paris or New York. Here is an example of how the French "atellier" can really work to give the art consumer direct contact with the artist, while avoiding the 50% mark up.
Varvara even shipped the works to my home in New York.

In this storied little village, graced by Courbet, Monet, and Baudelaire, one can still find real working artists! And while everyone knows Honfleur is now home to plenty of cheap kitch custom made for Belgian money launderers, i was relieved to find this truly gifted artist on rue Haute, right near the old basin and St, Cathrine.

If you are looking to acquire original artworks while in France, oils, pastels, watercolors, then do yourself a favor and visit this artists studio and gallery before her prices move out of reach. I would say it is worth a visit form Paris (2 hrs by train to Deauville) to profit form this gem of a gallery.

Varvara is one of the best painters of her generation, with an exceptional ability to grasp the essential aspect of a landscape, a human affect, and urban cacophony, to render an oeuvre that is so unique, for a zeitgeist that is so evocative due her subtle, delicate and transformative style. Her style represents the best combination of impressionism, expressionism and modernism. Equally gifted with pastel and with oil media.
