What a find! My partner and I were fortunate to stop off here en-route to Spain and it provided the perfect respite from the long hours of driving. It is a secluded spot in a tiny hamlet that is a pleasure to walk around and enjoy. The main village has everything you need in the form of shops and restaurants along with a splendid example of chateaux (well worth a quick visit).
Alouette is a converted barn and has been lovingly restored by Janice and Tom and they have thoughtfully designed-in delightful seating areas and spaces to enjoy the tranquility (both inside and out).
The accommodation is perfect for small families or two couples sharing - not mention just having the place to yourself - we did! There is a huge sitting room and television area with log burner and ample, cozy seating. The main bedroom off has en-suite facilities and affords perfect privacy. Upstairs from the sitting room is the mezzanine suite which is spacious and comfortable and again, offers privacy from your fellow travelers and family.
Guests can enjoy the fabulous breakfast in the farmhouse kitchen and get your day off to the perfect start. Janice whips up an amazing breakfast (full English if you give her notice) and the bread is as fresh as it can be as she nips off to the village bakery at the crack of sparrows on your behalf. Add some eggs, cheese or cured meat and Janice's home made organic preserves and you have the best possible start to the day.

We stayed at Alouette recently. The house, bedroom and bathroom were all clean, beautifully restored and very comfortable. It is lovely to be in rural surroundings with a real sense of place. Owners Janice and Tom are warm and friendly people, and the breakfast was wonderful. We'll definitely be staying there again on our journey through France. Thank you Alouette!
