Although a BW Hotel, considering French hotels overall, the BW La Moderne, Caen is best viewed as a boutique hotel, very clean, rooms are quite nice, limited parking, but in perhaps the best part of Caen. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and speak a fair amount of English which is especially appreciated. If we go back, this is where we're staying.

Spent a few nights in Caen while touring the Normandy area. Hotel was clean, centrally located, and the staff was extremely for our group of non french speaking Americans. The major benefit was the rooms have air conditioning. Something that's isn't found regularly in the Normandy area. The hotel is in a great part if town - tons of restaurants within 10-15mins walking(some are just next door!) Beds and rooms are clean.
