It's Cafe de la Paix and it AIN'T cheap. I found myself here for a work meal and I was the most senior so naturally I picked up the bill. To my shock and surprise, a pint of beer was 16€ and it was 1/4 foam. The food is very good but with these prices it just has to be. I can firmly say that I would not come here if on my own dime.

Simply magnificent.

A very historical place. I proposed to my girlfriend here, so that made it even more historical for us. The oysters were nice and fresh, with several types you can try. We also had the King crab with avocado cream and paprika... delicious and refreshing. The desserts were top notch. It was a perfect dinner!

P.S. Try the escargot! Divine!

If dinner isn't an option, ask to be seated for a coffee and light lunch menu as 6th watch the world go by with the Opera as your backdrop.

Stop by, book a table and enjoy a sumptuous meal in the elegantly aristocratic decor and ambience of the historic and world famous Cafe de la Paix.

I came to this place because of its fame. I stayed in the simple menu part of it outside as there was no table inside.
The food was nice as expected. However I can't make it out if the service was good or otherwise in this place. It was very very slow to get served in every stage of my stay even though they were rushing around around you, but once you were served, it all happened fast & furious like a clockwork. At one point two waiters served me with food and wine and bread all at the same time like lightning. Then you wait for a long time for them to ask you if you wanted any pudding, which was agonising. Again, once the pudding order was taken, the desert came very fast again.

nice surprise, for Parisians it's a restaurant for tourists so you're not supposed to go, but the food was lovely the staff very friendly and helpful. it is an institution so it's slightly over priced.

Historical place, classically decorated and very ostentatious, but food is mediocre and ridiculously overpriced. Service is also sub-par

A charming cafe across from the Opéra de Paris. Great food and wine. The service is excellent. While it is always crowded, usually there are some tables available. A great place to watch world pass by sipping a glass of wine. My most favorite cafe in Paris. Not very expensive as Paris standards. They have excellent desserts and coffee. Also, full service lunch and dinners.

Yes, it's supposed to be high-end, and your paying around 40 euros for this. The toilets are near spotless, they try their best for up-scale services and decor. Tons of people inside. Maybe it was just a bad lunch day for me?

overly sweet desserts, and overly fat onion cheese soup, as well as my fault for not reading the "organ" in the beef. So I got cow organs, which I thought tasted like goose liver and chicken combined.
I was famished but could not finish the onion cheese soup since 80% of the soup was cheese. The millfille was not the thousand layered type, but the 3-6 layered type, and ridiculously sweet, I was relieved to get unsweetened tea afterwards.

We ate here on August 27, 2017 for our 50th Anniversary. While the restaurant is beautiful the food and service are not! What a disappointing dinner and the service was worse. We were served horrible cold chicken and there was no follow up whatsoever so we could ask for our food to be remade. The restaurant had almost no diners so it was not busy. We do not recommend! We saw people eating what looked like delicious food at lunch outside & made reservations in the restaurant for what should have been a memoriable experience. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT when we could have chosen many other restaurants for such a special night. We saw our server twice, once to order and once again with the bill, that was it!

A necessary stop for anyone wishing to experience some genuine Parisian decadence.

Terrible services and a bad experience. A waiter who served with light food in the evening was very rude. The starter and main dish were served at the same time which is not normal. When we paid for our meal and use the rest of coin to pay one of 81 euro. The waiter said the euro coin is not accepted in this restaurant and rejected our payment. He believed that he is right even if we asked for the manager and the manager said the euro coin is accepted. Finally, the manager apologize for this. In short, it was a very bad experience for our dinner here.
