Bien reçu et on mange très bien

Bottom line is this - this is an attractive looking place close to the Voie Verte cycling route. But the staff is totally overwhelmed at lunch time serving 10 Euro 4 course meals to local blue collar workers. Maybe outside of lunchtime a thirsty foreign cyclist might be able to get served politely, but at lunchtime go anywhere else but here!

Accueil chaleureux.

After another long delay when the proprietress did not even venture outside where we were sitting, I went inside to ask what the menu of the day was, carrying my empty water bottle which I needed to fill since I was halfway through a long hot day of cycling. When the proprietress saw me, she told me straight away I had to pay 50 cents to fill it! I have never had to pay for tap water when I was at a restaurant to eat, but I paid the 50 cents anyway. As the waitress was handing the bottle back to me, she then treated me to another tirade about how I had to speak french, we were in france where people speak french, she only spoke french etc etc. All a bit unnecessary since although I do not speak french well, I can get by, and indeed on the same trip I was praised on my ability to hold a simple conversation in french. After this I decided that there was no interest in serving me at this establishment, and I rode on to the next village where I picked a very pleasant lunch from a menu served by a friendly proprietor.

There are a large number of tables, both inside and outside. But only one older woman serving. I'm guessing she is the proprietress.

Seeing she was busy, I sat for about 10 minutes waiting for her to approach and ask what we wanted. Since she never did I then asked her politely in french for the menu as she was passing. This was greeted by what could only be described as a tirade which consisted of repeating over and over "no menu, no menu" in french and saying the only thing available was the menu of the day. However there was no mention of what the menu of the day was before she stormed off!

Une bonne cuisine traditionnelle avec le menu du jour multiple, ne soyez pas pressé car la patronne et le patron sont bien débordés donc prenez votre patience pour apprécier un bon repas, il est conseillé de réserver ou si vous êtes chanceux passez
