Such a diverse beautiful area. Would have loved to have spent a week here. Wildlife and birdlife exceptional. Take a horse ride for sure.

Beauty and peace dwells there all around. Go there off season and you will experience the best nature encounter. I'm talking hundreds of flamingos and bore prints in the mud. Additional bonus : there are no mosquitoes which usually devour you there in the summer ;) If you want to make your stroll 100% pleasant, make sure you put some layers on you as the wind might be quite rough.

A unique place where you can see flamingos, horses and bulls in the wild. I recommend taking a long horse ride to get away from the roads and feel closer to nature

Gorgeous national park, a bit touristy, but definitely worth a visit. Driving around is good, but exploring it on foot, bike or horseback is definitely nicer. The salines are a must, absolutely stunning

Large area with a mix of natural marshes and farmland. Great for birdwatching -- there are many birds to see here, including thousands of flamingos. At Saintes Maries de la Mer, you can also hire a horse and ride along the beach or through the marshes.

Pierre town. Went by in the winter, so it was pretty dead. Might be great in summer

Lovely Camargue! Only reason for not giving it 5 stars is that there are not that many walks and/or they are not easy to find/advertised. There are boat trips and safaris and one can borrow bikes easily..but with a dog that is not always suitable. Having said that, it's generally a very dog-friendly place!

It's nice, a park where you can see otters and flamingos, amongst other animals. It doesn't have a very natural vibe with all the pathways and benches, but it's nice. Loved the flamingos, they are not too far away so you can get a good look at them.

One of the best places in Provence. I recommend to everyone who loves nature. Children here will also be interested.

Very flat. Good for picnics. And horses.

Very tranquil place to spot bulls, white horses and pink flamingos (from a distance). However take care not to leave any bags or valuables on show in your car in the parking area for the flamingos because when we were there the car next to ours was broken into and bags stolen. It is quite an easy thing for the thieves to do because there is a ten minute walk from the parking space to get reasonably close to view the flamingos and this is when they take their chance.

A beautiful nature refuge a short drive away from the Arles. The Camargue is really large and there are not too many roads so it's best to choose a destination then explore around there. The flamingos are plentiful but rather shy, they will start moving away as soon as your car stops moving. Overall, it's a really refreshing change from the touristy nature of many of the towns in Provence, literally a breath of fresh air.
