- kleines, aber tolles Frühstück (Obst kann man sich den Tag über immer nehmen, Saft von eigenen Äpfeln) in genialem Ambiente
- die Inhaber sind wahnsinnig nett und es ist sehr familiär
- stilvoll eingerichtetes Haus
- auf Wunsch macht der Hausherr eine interessante Führung

So in case you want to book this, also note that the closest 24 hrs a day open motel / hotel is the formule 1 hotel in CHARLEVILLE MEZIERES.

- Die meisten Zimmer haben ein Bad, unseres war auf der anderen Flurseite
- alles ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen, hat aber vielleicht auch genau deshalb diese tolle Ausstrahlung/Charme

We arrived an hour late (23:30 instead of 22:30), but with all landlines of the chateau being out of service we hadn't been able to reach over the phone.
The chateau was beautiful from the outside, as soon as we reached the gate a violent bell rang and giant lights illuminated the castle. Unfortunately nobody was there to open the castle. We have been ringing the bell and flashing our car's lights at all the windows for over 45 minutes, but to no avail.

The dining room is dark and cavernous but relives old glories. With the uneven flagstone floor and fireplace you could be back in the 18th century.
This place exudes history and the owner, Dr Adrien Caprani is to be admired for taking on the long-term restoration of this late 16th century historic site. But if you are after luxury and creature comforts then this is not the place for you. It is located in an industrial area so first appearances of the surrounding area are disappointing, but there are delightful walks along the Meuse canal from Glaire and along the country road to the village of Illy.
The garden is being restored to its 18th century beauty and whilst it has a long way to go, it is the perfect place to sit in the sun. Unfortunately you can hear some traffic noise from the nearby motorway. The garden furniture is old and basic and could be improved. There is also very limited TV and no station which covered the World Cup! Attention to details such as these would improve the overall experience at the chateau.
This is a good base for battlefield fanatics (wars of 1870, 1940,Verdun and Rocroi). There is not much to see in Sedan apart from the castle, so 5 days at the chateau is probably enough. If you love history and don't need luxury then this is a very interesting place to stay.

Lieu très calme et charger d'histoire.
Accueil chaleureux ,la literie et neuve et de qualité.
Idéal pour se détendre et passer un moment dans un lieu somptueux au prix d'un hôtel ibis aseptisé!

Sehr schönes, authentisches Schloß aus dem späten Mittelalter. Gut erhalten und mit vielen unterschiedlichen aber liebevoll gestalteten Zimmern. Weitläufiges Grundstück mit Obstbäumen, Innenhof, Teichen und Wiesen. Sehr unkomplizierte und freundliche Besitzer, die Abwicklung warwar entsprechend reibungslos und zuvorkommend.

We spent a week here as a group of 8 friends and booked the whole chateau. It is large and interesting and relatively comfortable. There was lots of space but the furnishings are tired. The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean but not luxurious. The towels are thin and not high quality so it is worth paying extra euros to have the friendly housekeeper Giselle change the towels and do some cleaning and washing.
