Welcoming staff and nice ambiance. The lunch specials were inventive and tasty. Vegetarian options were available but not quite inspiring. On the other hand, the cafe gourmand was a slam dunk. Enjoy!

Overall, we did have a good time, but for the price we paid it left wanting. More consistent food and service, and better looked after decor would make my rating a 4

My wine by the glass was great on the other hand.

Service slow and low quality. We arrived around 4:30, there are many empty places indoor, but we still waiting for 15 minutes without anyone come to ask. We try to wave hands and keep looking for a waiter or waitress to come, instead of giving us a cup of coffee, they prefer to avoid our demand tidy spoons. We are a tourist and fist time in Bordeaux, We are really surprised this famous restaurant actually is like this.

Great food and service. They've a nice lunch menu which changes daily. The staff is friendly and nice.

Très bonne qualité. Notre serveur très sympathique. MAIS............. J'ai fait la réservation par téléphone et le type que j'ai eu était à peine aimable. A table, j'avais le patron en visuel, lequel n'a cessé d'arborer des rides soucieuses et des mines consternées lors de l'encaissement des notes. Un peu comme si son personnel lui donnant du "Monsieur" à tout va, faisait systématiquement mal son boulot. En bref, il gâche le plaisir. Les amis Québecquois qui étaient avec nous nous ont carrément dit: " c'était délicieux mais dommage que le patron ait cette tête de c...".

The price is a bit steep for the overall experience. That being said, it is in no way a bad choice. My beef chef special (the name of the dish escapes me) was fabulous. Yet the sides left wanting, as did my partners main dish. Our starter was punchy in flavour but meagre for what it was (boudin noir). The decor left wanting, as did the service initially (our waiter in the end was very nice, just took a while to warm up!)

The food is really good but the best about this place is its fantastic location in front of the Grand Theatre. Eat outside on a beautiful day and you will love it.
