Arrived at around 20:00 We reckon it takes about an hour and a half-two hours to eat at Courte Paille so thought that would be OK. Welcomed and given a table, then we waited, and waited. Finally, the child's meal arrived in the wrong order - meal then starter. We were given bread, then after a reminder, the 'welcome salad'. That sufficed us until about 20:40.
Eventually, after further prompts we got the main meals.We were told there were no jacket potatoes (when the meals arrived with chips). Not a mention when of this when we ordered, or an offer of haricots verts or ratatouille instead.
French steak is always dodgy unless you like it rare or bleu, but the bien cuit one looked exactly like the bleu that my partner ordered, and we were assured that it was the bien cuit that we had ordered, but to me it was inedible. They took it away, charred the ends and brought it back- I gave up and ate the outside edges and the ratatouille they had finally brought on request.
We didn't stay for dessert or coffee, except for the little ice-cream in a miniature Courte Paille which comes with the children's meal.
What a difference from the Courte Paille at Mondial 2 near the port in Caen where we had a late meal before boarding the ferry. There, it was incredibly busy, but the service was smiling, prompt and excellent-as was the food.

Not bad, food and presentation good, but don't expect English speaking staff although menu is available in several languages at least.
