An amazing and not too touristy area in the French Alps. The national park offers something for all levels of hikers, climbers and tourists. The local food and culture is unique and the mountains offer fantastic hiking and climbing trails for beginners up to very advanced levels. The climate is friendly as this is the most southern region of the high Alps, which guarantees very warm days in the summer and relatively low amounts of rain.

Outstanding region. Something for everyone. Great food, great scenery, great range of activities. We went to ride the mountain passes on a road bike and I can say its a cycling haven. If you stay in Bourg d'osian you have countless famous tour de france climbs including the Alpe d'huez and the Galibier

Loved the rocks and history of the area.do some research and it makes the visit more worthwhile. Lovely scenery anyhow.

Endless opportunities to be in contact with nature. There are plenty of hiking paths with beautiful landscapes to fill the eyes. In the Summer we find specially families with kids enjoying this park, though, there are hikes with different levels of difficulty to fit the most adventurous.
