We arrived at the rental car desk at 4:00 PM on a Thursday. Over an hour later, we were still waiting in line, despite the fact that we had made a reservation in advance. Notably, none of the rest of the counters had any line at all. It took the sales associate nearly 20 minutes to enter my information into the system to complete the rental. She attempted to upsell me on a car, where the upsell would have cost almost twice again the original rental fee. We will not be renting from Europcar in this location again.

As always, the 'or similar' screws the customer. Booking an Audi, getting a Citroen.

One week later, the 200 euros deposit have been taken and not credit back. The 24 euros insurance was in fact 73 euros!! (We paid 73 euros to book the car)! Because the cost she told us was without the airport tax of 34 euros and without the 20% taxes!! Unacceptable!!!
When I called, they didn't care at all and kept on telling me I was misinformed. As per the 200 euros, they said they cannot do anything and I need to deal with my bank!

The lady on the desk welcomes me : there is a huge wait, far more than one hour. Maybe more.
Station is not fully manned, I reserved my car 2 weeks ago.
Great start for the holidays. On the other rental companies around there is no such hassle.
What is europcar doing wrong?

We've booked an economic car via an american website for very good price for one day.

At return it shows the same picture:
2 people for taking back 40 cars. Waiting time one hour.
As I habe to catch my flight i leave vontract and key in the car and hope they don't rip me off.

The difference here was that the staff was rude, unhelpful and, as often, blaming the website and other things.

Excellent service. We booked a VW Polo via Easyjet as a package deal. Found the europcar quickly, gave them my passport and details, and drove off with the car 15 minutes later. Super fast and friendly service. One remark though: it should be more clear where to drop off the car when returning. We didn't know that you had to go to Terminal 2 to return the car 10 days later. But thanks to a friendly french guy at the parking lot and good signage, we were able to find it in time. Europcar is one of my favorite rental services. If you have a problem, call them. They will help you quickly and even give you a refund if something is not right!

The staff was very nice and helpful, especially Nicholas at the front desk. Although we had to wait for a long time (more than 1 hour), but that was fine as there was a huge amount of people before us. I would definitely rent from this location again.

I arrived to Nice airport at 10 pm and already booked my car with them at the airport branch. Imagine you come to the airport at 10 and leave after 12 midnight, what a nightmare after a long trip! They are very slow and never saw a company has this level of low service. It takes them almost 20 mins to process one person. What makes wonder is that they have seen that people are giving them a very low rating with bad reviews since tow years and they never care, and I assume they will not until their company collapse (they are no better than Nokia :)).

Long long line waiting, charge your credit card more than stated, and when contact them you got worst costumer service ever no response except an email from reservation department stating you will get a reply after 4 hrs from costumer service and no reply for weeks

We had to call 3 times before they could confirm our booking. The next day we went to pick up the car at 7 am, there was no queue at all (they open at 6.30 am). Only one woman, very unpleasant, she gave us the impression she didn't want to serve us.

Soo, after reading all the reviews on here I was prepared for a bad experience. I even looked to see if any of the other car companies were any better, but apparently not. Frankly it couldn't have been much better. I checked in online prior to arrival. Admittedly it wasn't busy. The girl on reception couldn't have been more helpful. After a wait of no more than 10 minutes I was up to sign the paperwork. I was offered some very expensive insurance, which I declined and I was on my way. The return was just as straightforward. Within a few minutes we were on our way and the guy who checked the car couldn't have been more pleasant. I do wonder sometimes if people with negative experiences aren't more likely to leave a review. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

She ask if we wanted to take an insurance which the cost was 23.72 euros per day. I've asked her if there was any hidden costs and she confirmed me there was not. So I gave her my credit card to pay but she said, it will be charged once we return the car. Also, she took a 200 euros deposit for the rental car.

When I went to pick up my car rental October 2014 in Nice, France the agent at the desk attempted to place several additional charges related to insurance that were not specified in the initial agreement. This would have resulted in approximately $150 extra per day. Fortunately my credit card company successfully disputed the charges. In order to avoid the additional charges she tried to get me to sign a charge slip for approximately $3000. Will never use this service again. Was lucky to pick up a car at Avis.

The worst treat I ever had in a rent a car!! I finally paid one day more for nothing!! Definitely if you read this comment....do not rent!! Just see all the negatives they have, I have never seen this before!! Don't even understand how they do not take action and try to change after reading all this customers reviews....this prove that they just don't care about the customer!

Most unprofessional car hire station I have ever seen....

Never use them!!! I booked a car for 230 euros, they had an error in the system and promised not to charge more than the amount on the contract. In the end they charged me 400 euros.... I obviously asked them to fix the error, they asked me to sent them the contract, even though they should have a copy of it (high incompetence ). I sent them what they asked for anyway and in the end they paid me back 40 euros. This is ridiculous, they do not respect the contract we have, they still have to pay me 120 euros but I cannot get through the complicated calling system they have. Save your time and book somewhere else! It is not worth the time and stress.

It took me 1,5 hours to get my car. It was marked as no damage in the papers but had several scratches and also a bent fender... I had to find somebody in the parking lot to note this in my contract.
Car smells line an ashtray...

Overall, I highly don't reccommend this rental car at all to anyone! Go for any other with better customer service and no hidden costs!!!



When we returned the car, at 10 pm on the same day, there was a huge waiting queue. No indication how to return the car, where to drop it or what to do. When I've asked the woman she said, everything is fine, no need to worry. I've asked her for a receipt for the insurance and she insure me I don't need one and everything will be taken care of the next day because they close at 10 pm for car checks.
