Huge collection of specimens, very well preserved in a lovely building. Bring your own bottled water.

Our kids absolutely adored this place !
Humble home of Lucy "Early Human Ancestor" in a glass case on the second floor, where she could very easily go unnoticed (and likely very often does.)

Everything is written in french and font is cursive. Hard to read even something is similar to latin (universal language for anatomiy).
Grand raté traduction!

The coolest museum in this park if you are interested in skeletons, everything from a complete blue whale to tiny shrew, and bottled specimens. 19th-century charm and atmosphere.

Top 10 favorite places in the world. A must when in Paris... especially for fans of Chris Marker and La Jeteé

Good exposition and specimens but a bit lacking of care

This is my favorite museum hands down. I think most people miss the point when they mention the lack of modernity or the signs that are only in French and Latin, this is a museum of museums, the disposition of the collection seems to have barely changed since the 1800s. There are plenty of museums that will tell you all about the anatomy of the Sperm Whale with interactive videos and touch screens, but this is the only place that will give you hundreds of animal brains in jars and single, handwritten labels on each one. It's all so beautiful and encourages further curiosity and wonder

Great exhibition. Nice building. Really impressive, especially for kids. In my opinion a must go.

So many skeletons! So much information! Makes me feel like I stepped into the world's fair or the Paris Expo. A wonderful slice of 19th century zoology.
