We have just spent a very pleasant two nights in Cordes at the Hostellerie du Vieux Cordes which is in a traditional building renovated to a high standard.
Our room (no. 2) was adequately spacious and comfortable with a view over to the opposite hills. The decor and furnishings were of a high standard, The bathroom had a nice shower (no bath). There was no tea/coffee/kettle or bottled water provided in the room (except on request).
The staff were very pleasant and helpful
Breakfast was a little disappointing. There was cereal but no bowls, and only one croissant per person (but plenty of bread). The yoghurt and compote were too sweet for my taste and my wife would have liked strawberry jam. They were under-staffed (it was the start of the season) so there usually wasn't anyone present to ask about things without going to reception.
Dinner was excellent with a limited menu (2 duck and 2 salmon dishes plus cassoulet, and a different fish when we were there).

Goat cheese salad with walnuts was spot on and the fisherman's catch of the day went well with accompaniments from the Gaillac cuisine. Finished with a platter of local cheeses. A bottle of Chateau Sauras rose vine was refreshing with all the above. The only drawback was the 'muzak' on a loop.

Very nice hotel in a very pretty location. The hotel was clean and well kept. The food in the restaurant was incredible, and worth the extra cost.

My room was big and comfy and the hotel is exceptional. The food is amazing and everyone working there are lovely and they can speak English.

Overall a very pleasant experience and recommended.
