Great Restaurant and real family Business with father, mother and daughter! We love to visit good restaurants and after one week in Avignon we can tell: La Fourchette is probably one of the top 5 in Avignon!
We were a group of four and had all different starters and main dishes. All 8 dishes were very delicious and tasty in provence cuisine style. A good mixture of tourists and french people visit this great place. Therefore it was booked out each evening. We can tell, because we pased by each evening the way to our hotel. You have to make reservations best one day in advance to get a table. Price an quality were in good relation. Very nice wine card: we had a wonderfull Vieux Telegraphe Chateauneuf du Pape 2007 so the bottle was empty much to early.

Creative, gourmet meal. The staff is quite helpful, and will warn you if they feel you are not exactly certain what you are ordering (trotters). The atmosphere was upscale, with the food being most excellent and inventive. The menu has some interesting twists on the regional cuisine. A restaurant I would return to again, especially to see how the menu varies with the seasons.

We then ordered the stewed beef with olives and a side of rigatoni and cheese, which was fine, but boring and by no means exceptional. We wanted dessert, we had watched them bring these incredible looking profiteroles to three or four tables, but when we went to order them they informed us that they had run out of these as well, which was really irritating. We had picked this restaurant to be a special night out for us with lovely French food, and it definitely wasn't. Overall it was overpriced and definitely not worth the money. On the bright side the wine we ordered was really good, and the room was classic and well-decorated (though full of flies)!

Very French Bistro. Lively. Food very good. Reservations a must.

When we did finally sit down and place our order they were out of the appetizer on the menu as well as an entree, both of which were our party's first choice. This was annoying, but it happens, so we ordered some other items on the menu. Which were awful. My mother and brother ordered the scallop in fish mousseline because they love seafood, but it was inedible, and neither of them finished. I had the shaved artichoke salad with parmesan. The artichokes seemed like they were uncooked, and were dry, chewy, and tasteless. The big pile of parmesan was okay, but the salad was not.

Not to be missed when in Avignon. It was really superb and the house wines were perfect. 100%!!

I went with my family, we had a reservation at 9, we arrived a bit early, and they couldn't seat is, which was fine, we sat at the bar and they gave us a nice olive tapenade with some bread while we waited. Unfortunately, we were not seated until after 9:20. I've lived in Paris for 6 months, so I know that French service is slow, and that the relaxed pace is part of what makes dining in France so special, but to make a group with a reservation wait for more than 20 minutes when there is no line is too much.

Chosen by an Australian friend who was on her third visit over a 12 year period. Expectations were high and La Fourchette didn't disappoint. After a bit of a rough start as we hadn't told them our party had reduced from eight to five (for which we were very embarrassed), all was ok as the spare seats were immediately filled by locals. The staff were great and happy to help us non French speakers. The food was amazing, regional French but with a modern influence. I will go back the next time I am lucky enough to visit Avignon.

A popular restaurant in Avignon. Reservations essential. Nice deco. Warm service. Free savoury biscuits appetiser. Dishes are nicely presented but taste was average. Ravioli was bland. Mashed potato was extremely salty. The fish dish was good.
