The most amazing food in exquisite surroundings. Staff are knowledgeable, friendly and very courteous. Prices are surprisingly reasonable...... owners are English!

Absolutely wonderful setting...the prettiest around, underneath the eaves of an ancient open barn in a large courtyard surrounded by vineyards. Owners Chas and Caroline put up a fabulous and very unusual menu for this part of France, incorporating the best of local ingredients as well as some Asian-themed dishes. The smaller plates size is a refreshing change and they have recently added great beef (I couldn't believe it was French!). Everything is top notch and the atmosphere is truly spectacular. They also have a beautifully-done-up give for rentals...If we didn't have a holiday home here, I wold rent it for the summer! One of our top places for either lunch or dinner...we literally get depressed when they close for the winter.

Turned up without a reservation and were able to fit is in. Couldn't wish for a better ambiance. Food was heavenly, well selected wines from great producers. Shame we found this by chance on the last day of this trip. Worth a detour, and a second visit.

An absolutely fantastic meal, very nice relaxed eating experience, I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone. Lovely wines, all staff very friendly and helpful. Loved it so much going again for lunch in a few days.

We recently visited Le Caillau for the second time - we absolutely love it. We took our two little girls (aged 3 and 5) and they both were well looked after. We tried our French, but the waiter speaks perfect English too so ordering was a doddle. The setting is just beautiful. While we were there there was a rain storm which didn't affect us under the barn. It was actually quite nice (as it was still very warm!).

Really cute place to bring out of town guests, especially on a sunny day. A bit off the main hwy, but that adds to the charm. Nice lunch menu, reasonably priced.

Should we be in the region again next year, we will definitely eat there again.

Beautiful courtyard, friendly staff. My chicken was dry and the food in general was forgettable.

We have been going to Le Caillau with family and friends for the past three years and have always had a memorable experience. The staff are very professional and friendly, food excellent and the surroundings hard to beat. We would recommend Le Caillou to anyone visiting the region.

The prices are very good and the food quality is exceptional. It was around €160 for 6 of us to each a starter, main and pudding (also a bottle of the local sparkling wine which was lovely!)

Another lovely lunch situated in the middle of a number of wineries. Would recommend if you have kids to do the pottery first to keep the them happy.
