Lieux incontournable de l'histoire du débarquement de Provence et surtout un panorama merveilleux

Musée Mémorial du Débarquement is a small, but very good exhibition inside a fine World War II hill top fortress above Toulon. The views from the fortress are worth the visit alone. The most charming way to get there is to take the cable car from Boulevard Amiral Jean Vence in Toulon (lat lon 43.137334, 5.934525). On the other hand a drive up there would of course be spectacular in itself. The military exhibition covers the history of the landing of the allied forces. The upper station of the cable car is just below the fortress. There is also a zoo nearby and many other things to see.
