I have spent here 6 days skiing, and I loved it. Even blue slopes could be fast enough. The slopes were well maintained.
I would recommend it to anyone.

Very close to Nice, in about 2h by car you are on top! Really on Top!
Unluckily I don't go there for skiing, in winter I climb there for the Ice Rally "Trophee Andros" a very particular evento for motorsport.
The town is on the italian border and if you like ride bike, motorbike or car, the road is amazing with wonderful panoramas to shoot (I did Nice-Torino via Isola 2000 Col de la Lombard in october and fall colors were superb).
In summer there are wonderful mountain paths to climb with lakes and WWII fortifications.
Before to climb to Isola 2000 do a stop at Isola the old original Village with all different main doors.
If like me also do astrophotography it's better spend another half of hour and climb to the pass Col de la Bonette (another wonderful road) open from spring to autumn.
Don't forget also the Parc National du Mercantour.

Sking for 5 days March 2015. Isola is great. cheap to get to via snow bus from nice airport. Skiing mainly blues and reds. Restaurants a little overpriced for average food. Laid back ski resort. Not much nightlife if your'e into that. family freindly
