I have immense respect for the reason this monument was built, but of all war monuments we visited in the area, this one felt the most touristic and barest. The area around it is very bare, and it mostly has car parks and touristical museums around it. It doesn't really carry the right, ernest feeling.

C'è un monumento sulla Spiaggia di Omaha in Normandia che ci ricorda che la libertà delle nostre nazioni è costata agli Stati Uniti un prezzo molto alto (circa 2900 giovani Americani morti solamente nel primo giorno dello sbarco iniziato il 6 Giugno 1944 e solo su questa spiaggia).
Arrivando in questa spiaggia è impossibile non "sentire" le grida di quei ragazzi falciati dalle postazioni Tedesche in parte ancora visibili sulla collina retrostante, è impossibile non "vedere" ancora adesso il mare completamente rosso sul bagnasciuga,è impossibile dopo un po riuscire a trattenere tutto questo e non esplodere in un pianto per l'eredità che quei ragazzi ci hanno regalato.
Riicordarci, domani mattina, di continuare o cominciare ad uscire di casa con la luce negli occhi e con la vita nelle nostre mani per far sentire a quei ragazzi che il loro sacrificio noi: ce lo siamo meritato.

Interesting art sculpture celebrating the D-day disembarkment. Unfortunately I don't remember the relationship of the artistic form to the event. Still, walking around the area gives you some insight on how exposed the troops were on that day. Further East are some bunkers showing the Nazi defenses. Visiting during the celebration was very rewarding. Got to meet many friendly WW2 re-enactors with their WW2 jeeps, Harleys and other military vehicles. I might do it again next year.

I really felt let down by what isn't here to commemorate the soldiers who gave their lives for the cause to free France.

I hope they continue to conserve and add to the sites. There are beach houses everywhere and the locals seemed like they didn't appreciate visitors.

Everyone should come to this place and learn about this story. Amazing place to visit....great read alongside the beach. Well worth it

On most of the photos of this monument it is standing on a sand during low tide. I seen it on a high tide day when it stood in the water.

As with any wartime memorial, a beautiful, and poignant reminder of the incredible sacrifices made by those brave men and women for our freedom. I was especially pleased to see the beach now being so enjoyed by families and their children. I'm sure it would please those who made such a sacrifice over 70 years ago.

To know what took place here makes me feel proud of Americas humanity and courage of those how gave there lives, very proud to be an American from a Mexican imigrant parent I feel patriotic that is the feeling we should instill to all immigrants,thanks.

Nice memorial - Clean and bright on a nice day. Recommend for the view of the beach. History is alive here.

Nice parking area, easy entry and out. A good monument marking the sacrifice made by the American soldiers who came to Omaha beach. Beach keep nice me clean as it the monument.
