Contis Plage is a short drive (or a cycle ride or longish walk) away; we always go to the north end of the beach there, away from the madding crowd.

I have a feeling that that is our small tent over on the right on the front web page photo.

We stay here nearly every year - it is our favourite stopping-off point on our way down from The Netherlands towards the sun, and an ideal place to relax and slow down to a more sensible pace of life.
It is wonderfully spacious and quiet, with good facilities.

Un petit camping familial comme on les aime... Les emplacements sont vastes et ombragés, les sanitaires sont bien entretenus, le calme règne sur les lieux. Maylis, la propriétaire, nous a accueilli avec chaleur et simplicité. Idéal pour des vacances reposantes !

We've been coming here evry year for over 5 years because it's the perfect campsite for a good relaxing family vacation. The campsite is not overcrowded - there's plenty of space under the pines and you don't feel crammed together with the other campers. The campers are relaxed and freindly, the kids can all play together if they wish. It's quiet. A refreshing 20min bike ride along the cycle path to get tothe seaside in Contis, acces to the velossidée if you wish to go furthur, the village of St Julien with all the commodities only minutes away on the bicyce - the place is really ideally situated.
The Cassen family are friendly, open minded ans accomodating. The place is kept spotless and has everything you need for a perfect camping holiday in the Landes.
I would definitely recommend this place !

Verschrikkelijke ervaring! De eigenaressen waren overdreven agressief en onaardig! Bij aankomst was de receptie dicht en was er voldoende plek op de camping, dus besloten we de camping vast op te rijden. Vrijwel direct kwam de moeder van de eigenares (die blijkbaar dus wel in de buurt was maar geen enkele moeite deed om ons te woord te staan bij aankomst) op ons af om ons in het frans voor van alles uit te maken. Even later kwam de eigenares er bij die ons vertelde dat we onmiddellijk het terrein moesten verlaten. We kregen geen moment de kans om uit te leggen wat er gebeurt was of de situatie te bespreken. Van andere gasten hoorden wij dat de eigenaressen tegen hun wel heel aardig en beleefd waren en dat de situatie voor hen ook heel apart was. De agressieve en vijandige houding van de eigenaressen lijkt volledig gebaseerd op ons uiterlijk, wat erg spijtig is. Voor iedereen die graag eerlijk en op een leuke manier behandeld wilt worden is dit een ontzettende afrader.

My experience of this campsite was the most unfriendly, hostile camping experience I've had so far. Funny enough, the residents were very friendly, the hostess however was a great dissapointment. I did not feel welcome. Not how you want to spent your vacation...
I had set up my tent on apparantly the wrong spot, and instead of explaining and asking me to relocate my tent, she just bluntly asked me to leave. I had to pack all my things and leave the campsite late in the evening.
Luckily the camping municipale would let me set up camp after office hours. A little less comfort, but way more friendly and welcoming.
