Before the Dame d'Aquitaine I was 'gastronomie virgin' if you will: exceedingly naive and painfully awkward from start to finish. From mispronouncing "pigeonneau" and taking photos of ALL the food, to accidentally taking the wrong coat from the vestiaire at the end. (Don't worry, I returned it). Despite my perpetual faux-pas tendency, I still received the best service of my life. Not once did they make me feel embarrassed. Everyone, (the waiter, the vestiaire, the lady at the register,) were all so charming and accommodating. I was enamored with the 13th century crypt and atmosphere (very true to the photos) and lack of tourists. While I may be clumsy in restaurants, I've been well-immersed in authentic french cuisine these past five months and I found that the dinner was worth every euro. I would probably sell my left kidney to taste their foie gras again (luckily I don't have to because it was so affordable). Loved how they let you sample the mustards of Dijon with your aperatif. I wouldn't be one to miss out on their wine selection, either. awesome. Yes, the portions are small and highly decorative, but personally I find it refreshing- this isn't fucking applebees. I was very satisfied with my dinner and did not need to eat again the entire night (but I am a relatively small female).

Could have been an unlucky visit, but we would not come back to this place. Bill ended up at 170 euro for three people (2 adults) which it is not at all worth. We let the staff know, but they did not do anything else byr make an apology. Even added 10% service charge automatic when they knew we where really unhappy.

Sincerely, If you have 50 euros to spare, don't be hesitant to try something new. Dining should be worth remembering. I visited a lot of monuments during my stay but my fondest memory is eating here. Definitely recommend. treat yo self

Fantastic menu and superb Ambiente.

Not great. The quality of the food was sub-par. The monkfish was allright but the vegetables tasted like they could have been cooked five times. Quality of the foie gras not great. The smoked lamb starter was ok. The Borgougne beef was too dry. Rabbit ok but also dry. The chocolate dessert was good, the creme brulee boring. Our main waiter was good but had too many tables and the other two did not help out much. The manager pretty much stared at the computer screen all night and did not help out even though it was necessary.
The decor of the place really needs an upgrade.

Came here with my wife and daughter. The price is expensive but worth it. The way the beef boiled and mixed with herbs bring a sense to your taste buds. Its underground seat brought some unique experience to us.

véritable escroquerie, j'ai connu ce restau il y a 16 ans un vrai plaisir. A présent, on paie d'avance, non pour voir mais pour avoir une surprise désagréable. Par exemple déclinaison d'agneau, le morceau principal, manifestement du collier, élastique et nerveux. A la fin , avec entrée et plat on s'en sort pour 101 euros pour deux personnes avec un verre de vin au choix du restaurateur.
