Hope you never have to deal with them, honestly. Worst experience i ever had; super disorganized, difficult to establish communication. Do things with a lot of time and patience, because if you are on a rush, you will be in for problems.

I understand the negative reviews, but I think some of the problems are due to the laws (which weren't passed by embassy staff) and the limited resources available to respond to individual queries. In my case, I was lucky enough to receive invaluable assistance from Natalie, who called me twice to answer specific questions about an urgent situation related to the new requirements to enter Canada. So there's at least one person there doing the best she can in what are no doubt difficult circumstances. Thanks again to Natalie -- a great representative of Canada!

Honestly, the services are horrible and the new law that French residents with dual nationality now need a Canadian passport to travel to Canada...is beyond ridiculous. It is just a money-making scam.
I have no choice but to use them for passports and other documents because I'm Canadian but the service is atrocious. I've never had such bad service in Canada. In France, however that's another story.

I was waiting in line on phone for the operator to answer and then they just hang up on me. That is so rude!!!!!

All in all, I would trust the Canadian embassy in Paris if I were to travel there again.

Unbelievable! My application was approved online and I was asked to send my passport which I did. After waiting for many weeks, asking multiple times about the status with no response, today I got a letter in the CIC portal that the the embassy has refused my application for not giving my passport in time!
What!!! I have sent my passport 4 weeks ago and the vfsglobal tracking shows that my passport is in Paris.
I was going to Canada to present an academic work at a conference.
No sign of my passport. I am not sure if I ever will get it back.

I just left the embassy after having losing my passport and as such being unable to get on my flight so had to apply for a new passport. From the moment I called until I left just now the experience was just amazing. I was stressed out and panicking and everyone was so kind, warm and welcoming and provided me with all the information I needed to get time home ASAP. I cannot thank them enough for the efforts they made for me, particularly Esther who guided me through the whole process and made me feel comfortable and less stressed. Some people need to realize that they do not make the laws and are limited by the protocols that are in place. Considering the total lack of resources they appear to have (also not their fault) these people are heroes. Thank you for all you did for me, it will never be forgotten.

After having lost my passport in Paris, the embassy workers were very helpful in getting me an emergency travel document to fly back home. Not only that, they also made sure I had a place to spend the night and were very kind to me in my moment of crisis. Although there were some wait times, this is to be expected with any government service in high demand.

As any Canadian would, I came to pick-up a poppy for Remembrance Day. I found the staff to be aggressive, confrontational, and rude. Although there is a Canadian flag draped across the facade, make no mistake, this embassy operates as any other cog in the French bureaucratic machine - and, I never did get my poppy.

Update: They overturned their decision and granted me a Visa afterwards.
