Really friendly place, and staff are helpful would recommend, but could they could do with putting something in the room explaining there are external wood shutters you need to close at night to stop the million watt floodlights outside shining through and making it brighter than the sun inside!

Chic seaside, family hotel. Lounge/bar/breakfast room has a great view over the beach. Rooms are clean and well maintained. The family room has a separate kids sleeping area ;-) but the free WiFi doesn't make it down to this room.
English is spoken but not fluent

Chambre côté mer possédant une magnifique vue panoramique. Hôtel très calme et agréable. Personnelle très accueillant.

My wife was bitten by bed bugs. When we pointed out this problem to the hotel they would not accept that there was a problem. We had booked for two nights and were prepared to pay for the first night. We could not face the prospect of lying in bed waiting to be bitten for a second night. The hotel management said they would still charge us for the night we didn't stay there. They were quite aggressive and unpleasant towards us at a time when we were upset by our experience anyway. We went to another hotel.

The breakfast room is gorgeous: light-filled and overlooking the beautiful beach. Breakfast itself was good too. This room is open to the public for afternoon tea which may account for the discrepancy between the public and private areas. I found our room rather grim. The corridor leading to the room had that smell of pub carpet in winter - musty and unventilated and in need of a shampoo. The room was tired and traffic noise was surprisingly loud (the beach-side rooms were booked out). Two of the power points in our room were broken and one of the lights was broken. The bathroom was nicely clean, however. Generally, it lacks charm once you leave the breakfast room and the staff aren't receptive to criticism. St Malo, with its beautiful old town and gracious beach, is generally expensive but this hotel still feels a bit mean for the money.

Forget it. Tired. Sub-standard. Expense. Look elsewhere. We booked Room 4, the best "suit" in the hotel with bay window and private balcony. It's not a suit, it's a room. The "bay window" is curved recess. The "private" balcony has two plastic chairs and opens directly onto the public promenade. Not possible to enjoy the sea breeze because the windows don't open. Not possible to enjoy the sea view because anyone walking past looks straight in, so you keep the curtains closed. Only way to get ventilation is to open the terrace door - fine if you want to sleep with a door onto public promenade open. Bathroom very old, with tired fittings and dripping taps. When we suggested the room was inadequate for the cost (E250) we were met with a shrug, a hiss and the statement "we have a credit card". With this attitude it is only a mater of time before Hotel Beaufort becomes Hotel Bankrupt. Do yourself a favour; somewhere else, anywhere else is preferred.
