Breakfast was adequate but the coffee was a little weak (a surprise!).

One real disappointment: Our room, number 9, was far away from the source of hot water, and we could not get hot water to shower. Not so for our traveling companions in room 1. I was able to wash my hair in the cool water from the shower head (after 10 minutes of running the hot full on!). But I was unwilling to pour cool water over my entire body (shudder!).

We visited Hotel Bergerand "Le Relais de la Belle Etoile" the nights of Oct 13 and 14. The staff welcome was warm and helpful. We were surprised when reception asked us to settle up on arrival. We postponed because of numerous confusions until the following morning. This was fortunate because we decided not to have breakfast at the hotel a second time.

Hôtel propre mais pas très confortable le lit bouge et les pieds du sommier étais bien vissé alors si on veut faire un câlin c'est raté peur de cassé le lit plus qui est. J appelle un hôtel juste à fric. Et je suis très déçu pourtant c'est un trois étoiles je pense que les gens qui donnent les étoiles devraient revoir cette hôtel surtout la literie immonde.

Accueil chaleureux et convivial. L'établissement, bien que très ancien, est très propre et très bien entretenu. On se sent un peu "comme chez soi";
Le petit déjeuner est très correct. Nous garderons un très bon souvenir de notre passage dans cet hôtel.

To repeat, the staff was quite helpful and accommodating. The proprietor helped me figure out how to use my temporary cell phone, re-park the car (my first time parking on a sidewalk!), and use the code to get in after hours. However, the lack of hot water in room 9 was a disappointment. He carried my wife's baggage up and down the stairs.

My wife used our friends' shower to wash and rinse her hair. This good fortune saved the visit from being quite unsatisfactory.

Fix the hot water problem and I'd raise my rating to 4 stars.
