The room was very clean. This is a very old hotel and it has a lot of character. If you are lucking, you can get a room that looks out onto the square, literally across from the cathedral. My friends room was in the annex and it had a stain glass window, with the old beam construction. It was a fantastic room. There are no elevators and the stair cases are narrow. But this hotel has a lot of charm. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to my friends who like quaint hotels with a bit of charm.

The room was clean, but a bit old style.
The electricity went off during the stay, but the staff came to take care of it right away. Very responsive!
It's located in front of the church.

If you can find it, which isn't too hard, this is a wonderful place to stay because of it's quaintness, location and breakfast. We stayed in room 302 facing the cathedrale so the views were awesome. A few poeple questioned why we going to Metz, but to experience a French city less jaded by tourists was special. There is a bicycle rental shop several meters from the hotel, which we didn't discover until we we hopping on the bus (N83) back to the train station. Breakfast is not included, but go for it at 11 euro.

This place was charming and well decorated and the service was second to none. Friendly, super helpful and very chilled. The breakfast was also superb with the most amazing selection of baked goods I have ever seen - many of which seem to be freshly bought from some of the wonderful bakers at the nearby covered market.

We loved our quaint room with cathedral view, and while we were worried it would be noisy it was not at all with the windows shut. The fixtures and fittings in the bathroom were modern and clean and sleek (save for my pet peeve of a tap that reaches about 2 cm into the huge sink, but that's mostly my issue!) and we were provided with an iron and ironing board on request as well as reasonable if sometimes sporadic wifi.
