I am changing my previous review of 4 stars. If I could give 0 a start review I would.
Our stay was good but what happened afterwards is a big disappointment. Simply because of an issue with the hotel that has not been resolved yet and a rude employee of the hotel.
Let me explain, due to an internet booking error our room was booked twice. During our stay we were assured that the extra room booked due to the error would be reimbursed. Three months later (we stayed October 8 2016), nothing happened. I contacted the hotel several times through email an phone explaining what happened in detail and no response yet. One time the employee who attended me on the phone even dared to hang up on me while I was talking to him. Very rude and proves that this employee knows nothing about customer service. I am disappointed that Novotel not even bothers to investigate or to answer my emails. Novotel won't be seeing me again as a guest and I will not recommend the hotel to anyone else.

Highly disappointed with this so called 4 star hotel. Very poor location of the hotel. Hotels main entrance is right off the street, so if you plan to bring a car along, you have no choice but to go straight into the basement parking. Coming out of the hotel Does not feel safe due to the shady surroundings, even to walk 5 mins to the subway station. Does not offer free parking and it is really congested to park a large car. Only good thing about the hotel was, the Room was nice and clean but TV does not have any English channels. No free breakfast. Another big issue, no AC in the room, the room got really suffocating even in early May when it was bit warm. Can't imagine being there in the summer. Our room window was facing the same and a flyover highway right in front which meant opening windows to get some fresh air wasn't much of an option either. Again location killed the experience. Don't fall for the 4 stars and nice room pictures of this hotel.

The hotel has good price and it is at a 5 min walk of the metro station. The rooms are not clean, there is cigar smell all over the room, and urine smell at the bathroom. There is lack of soap in the shower, the maid sometimes put a new one, sometimes not. The maids do not respect the do not disturb sign in the door.

Really nice hotel. Not a nice area lots of homeless living in tents just outside. Felt very uncomfortable walking through la chappelle would not do it at night

A great hotel, with wonderful wheelchair accessible rooms. The local area is a little run down with a great deal of homelessness just outside but for a business user needing access to the nearby exhibition centre it's perfect. It's also perfect for an overnight if you're driving through it around Paris as it is very close to many main routes. Not for single travellers who want to taste Paris life on their own though.

- Location of the Hotel is not nice & does not feel like safe, as there are many slum / poor region around where people doesnt seem to be nice.

Honestly, I would have given this hotel -1 star if that was possible. First, the location. I dont mind being in the midsts of a refugee camp, I'd just like to know that ahead of time. Second, the staff members were very rude. When we arrived (in April), the heat was still on and when we complained about our AC being broken, three staff members failed to tell us that the reason the room was hot was that the heat was on through the entire bldg. Third, the breakfast was $15 for cold eggs and croissants. The fruit was not fresh and there were bugs everywhere.

Good hotel, nice rooms, and good service. Location left a bit to be desired. Next to a shanty town full of homeless and refugees. Always took a cab or Uber to Paris central or Montmarte.

Nice and clean. Lovely staff very helpful. A Metro station is close by, 10 minutes walk or less. Car park cost 18 Euro a day. The neighbourhood is a little dirty like the rest of Paris. There is a refugee centre near the Metro station, however there is no problems and for extra assurance the police is always in the area. It's safe place and clean.
