Wir sind keine Hotelgäste, haben somit nur gegessen. Im weiten Umkreis ist das Le Castel ein Restaurant das überhaupt noch geöffnet hat und sogar noch einen ansprechenden Eindruck macht. Es war im Innenhof-Garten aufgedeckt, die Atmosphäre war entsprechend romantisch. Die Karte ist klein, die Auswahl regional abgestützt. Der Chef hat uns seine Spezialität, ein wunderbares Fleisch, das mehrere Stunden eingelegt wird, empfohlen. Er hatte Recht, das Fleisch war vorzüglich. Fisch sucht man auf der Karte vergebens. Wir behalten das Le Castel in bester Erinnerung und hoffen, dass es die Tourismus-Flaute am Canal du Nivernais unbeschadet überstehen wird.

We climbed the hill from the Nivernais Canal on a hot (35 C) afternoon and arrived in the courtyard around 3:30 p.m. What a wonderful find! The room was beautiful (and cool!) as was the view of the church and the courtyard. The proprietors were wonderfully friendly and helpful (especially considering our weak French) and arranged secure storage for our bikes. Dinner was first-rate.

This is a very romantic place.

Il fut un temps ou le restaurant attirait une clientèle exigeante et soucieuse de manger du "fait maison", s’était il y a vraiment longtemps, le Castel était renommé.

The next morning, we visited the park and and enjoyed the scenes out over the river, canal, and valley.

Nous avons juste été au restaurant.
Une bonne table. Cuisine familiale de qualité. A tester lorsque l'on est de passage.

Buon ristorante. Cordiali e disponibili i proprietari. Atmosfera piacevole, un poco demodee ma camere grandi e spazi comuni in cui leggere un buon libro.
