This was by far the best food of our time in France this trip. Everything was wonderful. I was pleased to be able to dine without having reserved a table but I would recommend it. While it is elegant our party felt comfortable in our tourist clothes.

Altogether a dissatisfactory experience and when we commented to the maitre de on conclusion she was not interested in the slightest. Signifcantly below our expectations and not worthy of a Michelin rating in our experience. This restaurant was well below the two other dinners we had in Amboise on all levels and substantially more expensive.

Le Lion D'Or is a really cool little restaurant in Amboise. The desserts are particularly notable, but the foie gras with salmon in the middle also was fantastic. Service feels a little cold here, but the food is great, decor is nice.

Entrees were enjoyable but both main meals and dessert were cleared half eaten due to the lack of taste and quality of produce and yet the waiter did not enquire. The dessert was a weird combination of strawberries in liquor with perhaps a mango gelato and and avocado purée. It was inedible even if you like experimenting as we do. Service was slow and we had to ask for table to be cleared multiple times. In fact the only service we had was order and meal delivery.

Très bonne adresse, super service attentionné, de très bons plats à prix mesuré. Une déco au top avec le cadre de l'ancien remis au goût du jour. Petit plus pour le café : ils proposent une petite carte permettant à chacun de choisir son cru, j'ai opté pour un café du Guatemala et il était très bon.

We booked through the Michelin website but the booking was lost so we were seated in a below average bistro area. For a Michelin restaurant it would have been better to have been turned away given how much ambience adds to the whole dining experience.

Service tres lents et assiettes peu copieuses !! Les plats étaient tentants sur la carte. Mais les assiettes peu copieuses, malgré une belle présentation. Et le service TRES LONG !! Je crois n'avoir pas autant attendu les plats aussi longtemps dans un restaurant. 30 a 40 minutes d'attente entre chaque plat, pour au final, avoir un plat réchauffé ou un dessert déjà chaud et la glace fondue... Je ne recommande pas si l'on est du genre pressé.

Service is terrible, even for France. Food is totally overrated, mostly re-heated stuff, and kids menus are just leftovers from the adult menu
