We came to Mamie Gateaux 1 hour before closing and run into a line of people still waiting to be sited (the fact that it was raining outside most likely encouraged people to run into cafes). We had to wait for around 15 minutes when we were shown to one of the quite densely packed tables inside. It was busy and quite packed, but also welcoming.
I ordered a bowl of hot chocolate and a tart. Both were delicious, especially hot chocolate had an outstandingly strong smell and really pleasing taste. With the combination of hot chocolate and a tart I was lighter for 10 eur - an acceptable price for Paris.

One of the best cake-based coffee shops in Paris. The atmosphere in this cafe is wonderful and homey, like it's name (grandmother's cakes) suggests. The cakes change every day, and they're all good, but if you fin the orange cake - I definitely recommend it over others.

We had the scones, chocolate gateau, lemon meringue to share. The place was cosy for a chat with friends, and they have a variety of homemade tea choices.

Amazing cakes, great service, relaxing place for a good break to catch! Pistachio cherry cake and scones were both so delicious and unique. Coffee and tea are great too!

Delicious scones, served warmed and with butter; I prefer cream. Very cute place, and although they stop serving/close at 6pm, they didn't ask us to leave like most places do, and simply let us take our time to wander out then we had finished.

I've been here a few times. They do great cakes! They used to have a brocante but have since closed the section. What a pity! They had really great stuff!
