Had a profiterole filled with icecream and topped with melted chocolate... good. Seating in the veranda overlooking the cathedral is nice also, but the place is on the pricey side.

Staff is not friendly. Cappuccino was tasty but wasn't actually cappuccino - just coffee with cream on top.

Best location in Laon, and you pay for it. On a sunny day, sitting under fluttering white parasols and watching the people strolling past the Gothic cathedral, whilst toying with your chilled aperitif, you might almost think that was sufficient justification. The menu is extensive, the food generally pretty good and the portions a reasonable size. The service is unpredictable: sometimes faultless, sometimes enough to make you think you'd accidentally donned a cloak of invisibility. Is this place worth 5 but been docked one because of the prices? Or is it only worth 3 but been given an extra one because of the wonderful location? Go and make your own mind up.

Rude, ignorant and 3 things we ordered were not available. We were treated differently to the locals and we got up and left after the manager took our menu's away to a French speaking table.

Good uncomplicated food, friendly waitresses. A bit pricey but it was the only place open on 1 Jan.
