Due to political principle, Toulouse Lautrec's grandparents (the original owners of this vineyard) refused to present their wine for classification in 1855 as they didn't see eye to eye with Napoleon III. Turned out to be an expensive decision but a superb benefit for today's wine lovers. The price of this wine is much better value than its neighbours who can command higher prices for inferior wine due to the outdated classification system. We bought 3 bottles of the 3rd class wine which was amazing and under €10 a bottle. Definitely seek out this lovely family owned vineyard (a rarity in Bordeaux these days) and their amazing collection of wine related artefacts in their museum which is part of the tour. Well worth a visit. Bring your wallet and buy some great wine.

This is a great Winery/Chateau to visit. Our host was excellent & provided us a very historical view of Siran. The tour is not about how the grow the grapes or make their wines, it’s the history of the families that stated the winery and artifacts that date back centuries.
The wines offered at the tasting vary from lesser expensive table wines to those you would want to keep for many years before enjoying.

The beauty of the place is incredible. It's one of the few places in Bordeaux with a genuine family history disconnected from the others owned by investissement funds or new billionaires. Therefore you feel that the place is real and the team that welcomes you truly concerned by Siran. The wine is really good and we can't stop buying some every year. A must see in Medoc

Wonderful family owned chateau. Unique in that it has a museum dedicated to the history of wine ; particularly liked the glassware collection, some of which dated back to the Roman empire. Bonus is that the wine from this chateau is excellent.

Good show around and hospitality. Very modern winery wrapped in an ancient set up.
