A great museum, very rich modern art collection with stand outs Ferdinand Léger and some nice Picassos'. It also has an interesting contemporary art section and a very innovative "Art Brut" section. It may not be to everyone's taste but it does push forward.
Located in a great industrial site, worth the visit.

Nice Collection. Saw Jockum Nordström that was top. Modigliani was nice though very crowdy. Easy to reach.

A little bit far away from the center, but very well curated. Easy for art-outsider to have a good time understanding its collection.

I enjoyed visiting the L.A.M. modern and contemporary art museum and sculpture park at Villeneuve d'Ascq. The range of celebrated European modernists within the permanent collections - from Georges Braque and Fernand Leger through to Amedeo Modigliani and Pablo Picasso - are quite impressive, and the specialist section on Art Brut was also a welcome surprise. I thought the architecture of the extension wing where the Art Brut assemblages were displayed was a beautiful setting for showcasing "outsider art". My only disappointment - and this is quite a serious concern - was that my friend and I were followed around the galleries by security staff in a very uncomfortably close and over-scrutinous way, as though we could not be trusted to just stroll through the collections at our leisure. There were hardly any other visitors there anyway, so that type of hyper-surveillance was neither necessary, nor appropriate. Someone needs to give the staff there a little more diversity training to ensure that foreign visitors are welcomed as guests, and not made to feel as though our presence presents a problem. Galleries are designed for visitors, NOT to simply stay empty!

Very big museum with lots of modern art. Amazing building too. Worth a visit

This museum is really worth a visit. It has a great permanent collection and fantastic temporary expositions.

Both the permanent collection and the exhibition were very interesting, and the gardens around the museum is also very beautiful.
